Union Government to revive Korba fertilizer unit

Union government is planning to revive fertilizer unit in Korba in Chhattisgarh with an investment of Rs. 90,000 million. The new revived unit will have a capacity of 1.2 million tpa and will adopt Chinese technology. The Union government is yet to take a call on the route - a joint venture or public-private-partnership programme. It may be noted, the foundation stone for the Korba unit was laid by former prime minister Indira Gandhi and construction completed but could not take off due to lack of feasibility.
