There is exponential growth in other conurbation areas namely Devanahalli, Vijayapura and Doddaballapura.
Airports Authority of India is setting up the first airport in Pakyong in the hilly state of Sikkhim. The contract for the work has been awarded to Punj Lloyd in 2009. As of October 2015 around 80% of the work have been completed and is likely to go operational in early 2016. The airport had seen delays for over two years due to land compensation issues and earth filling works.

Its trial was also conducted at the airport by dropping some garbage in the bin. Once the desired garbage level reached a certain level, the dustbin sent a message to airport manager- ?dustbin ID Level has increased. Please clean the Dustbin.? This move will aid convenience across the airport management
