Odisha government has accorded in-principle approval for setting up a commercial airport near Dhamra port in Bhadrak district of the state.
Dhamara Port Company Ltd (DPCL), run by the Adani Group had submitted a proposal to the government earlier. Now, Bhadrak district administration has acquired some land for the proposed airport and for setting up a port-based industrial park.
Maharashtra Government is planning to develop a greenfield airport in Purandar near Pune in the state. The new airport will spread over 2,400 hectare, the airport will be constructed by the Airports Authority of India. The airport is located in proximity with national highways of NH-4 and NH-17. It will also connects a special ring-road with major industrial establishments from Hadapsar. The proposed airport will have two airstrips, each with a length of 4 km. It will handle cargo along with passenger traffic. In May 2018, the airport project has received site clearance from union civil aviation ministry.
Himachal Pradesh government is keen to develop a airport in Mandi in the state. A team of Airport Authority of India (AAI) has visited will visit Mandi to conduct a survey for the construction of an international airport there. The proposed site are Ner Dhangu in Balh sub division, Gogradhar in Padar and Mobiseri in Gohar Sub division along with some other sites for a pre-feasibility report.
