Aarti has started its operations in the year 1975 in the name of alchemie labs in a small of way with a single product namely Dimentyl sulphate. Today Aarti is One of the leading supplier to global manufacturers of Dyes, Pigments, Agrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals & rubber chemicals. Aarti is amongst the largest producers of Benzene based basic and intermediate chemicals in India. It has corporate office in Mumbai & representatives in U.S.A & Europe .
Aarti has 16 manufacturing units spread across Gujarat & Maharashtra and a strong Research & Development with sophisticated instruments & pool of scientists. Aarti has strong Research & Development center with sophisticated instruments & pool of scientists.
The company diversified into toluene chain of products (nitro‐toluene and derivatives) by setting up a greenfield facility with an investment of around Rs 1.3bn. The project is expected to commercialise early FY17. Aarti expects to leverage its well‐established clientele for benzene derivatives to promote its toluene derivatives, as the end‐user industries are the same (i.e., optical brighteners, agrochemicals, pigments, and pharmaceuticals). Simultaneously, it has set up an ethylation unit by adopting Swiss technology at the Dahej SEZ, which will receive input material from its toluene plant. Aarti will be the first company ever to procure ethylene by a pipeline and operate a greener ethylation process.
The company plans to introduce gradually a range of ethylene‐based chemicals catering to end‐user applications of agrochemicals, engineering polymers, pigments, and additives.
In November 2015, the company has completed expansion programme of Nitro Chloro Benzene unit from 57000 tpa to 75000 tpa in Jhagadia.
In December 2017, the company has won a Rs. 10,000 contract to supply a high value speciality chemical intermediate over a period of 20 years. The company will invest USD 35-40 million to set up a dedicated large-scale manufacturing facility for the production of this speciality chemical intermediate.
